Black Gamut is the working name of a photographer based in Brooklyn, New York, making pictures of live performance, nightlife, and the people who build both. The work is documentary in instinct and unhurried in method: long nights, available light, and a preference for the frame just before or just after the one everyone expects.
Since 2014 the archive has grown to several thousand frames across venues, festivals, and private rooms in the Northeast. Selected work has been commissioned by record labels, promoters, and editorial clients, and shown in small-format prints and zines.
Prints, licensing, and commissions are handled directly. Every image on this site is available as an archival pigment print in editions of twelve.
